Coats for Kids Campaign underway

HURON COUNTY - The 17th Annual Huron County Coats for Kids Campaign is underway. Volunteers throughout the county are collecting, sorting, repairing and cleaning donated coats and/or winter wear through Thursday, Oct. 8. Last year, some 650 coats found “new homes” in Huron County. As well, monetary donations allowed the committee to service hard-to-fit and special sizes.

Bad Axe: McDonald’s Food & Family Center, Bad Axe City Cleaners, Bad Axe Free Methodist Church; Ubly: St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church & Parish Center, Sleeper Public Library, St. Columbkille Church; Sebewaing: Trinity United Methodist Church, Luke’s Supermarket, Sebewaing Township Library, USA Schools, Signature Bank, as well as various Sebewaingarea churches; Bay Port: Bay Port State Bank, Laker Elementary School, Pigeon Food Pride, Scheurer Hospital; Elkton: Clark’s One Stop, United Methodist Church; Port Austin: Mayes IGA Foodliner, Port Austin State Bank, Heins Hardware; Kinde: Kinde Presbyterian Church, Independent Bank, CJ’s Party Store; Port Hope: Signature Bank; Ruth: Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church; Harbor Beach: Community Church of Christ, First Presbyterian Church, Our Lady of Lake Huron Catholic Church, United Methodist Church, Zion Lutheran School, Lighthouse Assembly of God, Community Center; Caseville: Caseville IGA, Caseville Public Schools, Caseville True Value, St. Roch Parish Office.
