Sebewaing High School Class of 1948 holds reunion
      The Sebewaing High School Class of 1948 met Aug. 27 at Krazysiak House Resturant, Bay City, for a noon lunch celebrating their 61st anniversary.       CASEVILLE - The Caseville Retirement Club met on Sept. 1. Laurette has had minor surgery on her knee and is home now. Ray had surgery yesterday. Andy has a bruise from falling. Virginia Kapcia is recovering from her chemotherapy treatments. Delbert Roberts is visiting today. Turtle Creek is booked for the September Trip.

Pigeon District Library to host USPS-sponsored Passport Fair
      PIGEON - The Pigeon District Library will host the Passport Fair on Thursday, Sept. 17 from 1:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. The event is sponsored by the U.S. Postal Service. An adult passport, including the picture, is $115. (If you bring a picture of yourself, the cost is $100, but the picture must be acceptable.) A child’s passport is $65 and is good for five years.

Burns Gallery hosting DaVinci Society Exhibit
      SEBEWAING - The Burns Gallery, located in downtown Sebewaing announces it is hosting the DaVinci Society Exhibit with Oils, Drawings, Silk, Pottery and Photos, on Saturdays and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. through Sunday, Oct. 11, 2009. Patrons may meet the artists on Thursday, Oct. 1 during Moonlight Madness Night and enjoy refreshments from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

300 Club Raffle Tickets Available
      The Port Austin Area Historical Society has their 300 Club raffle tickets available for purchase. Only 300 tickets will be sold at $30 each to help raise funds for the group. Tickets are available at Lake Street Emporium, Upthegrove Gifts, the Port Austin Village Hall, Osentoski Realty in Bad Axe and the Blue Spruce Motel. The $30 purchase price can be split among many people, if needed.

Bad Axe man sentenced for possession
      HURON COUNTY - Corey James Hunt, 21, of Bad Axe, was sentenced to 120 days in jail in Circuit Court last week on a count of possession with intent to deliver marijuana. Hunt, who received credit for 20 days already served, was also sentenced to 24 months probation and must pays costs of $250, $60 to the crime victims rights fund, state costs of $60 and $35 in restitution.
