Dear Editor,

Perhaps you have seen the e-mail false analysis of the House health care bill called HR 3200. Many people who have read the false e-mail are not aware of the bad information in that e-mail. But, now, experts at the Kaiser Family Foundation and researchers at Politifact. com have listed a point-by-point analysis of more than 50 of those claims. We have space for only a few of those points.

Page 22: The bill mandates audits of all employers that self insure. False.

Page 29: Your health care will be rationed. False.

Page 30: Government committee will decide what treatments you get. False.

Page 50: All non-US citizens will be provided with free health care. False

Page 65: Taxpayers will subsidize all union retiree health plans. False.

Page 72: Private healthcare plans must conform to government rules. True.

Page 95: The government will pay ACORN to sign up people for the government-run health care plan. False.

Page 102: Those eligible for Medicaid will be automatically enrolled. False.

These are only a few of the false statements in the email hoax, but many people who have not read or discussed the real HR 3200 may be frightened by it. So who is sending these false e-mails? His name is Peter Fleckenstein. He sends many e-mails to #tcot, which stands for “top conservatives on Twitter.”

If anyone wants to check the accuracy of the statements above, please contact Politifact.com at the Web site listed here: www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/article/ 2009/jul/30/e-mail-analys-health-billneeds-check-/
