Area teams compete at Hatchet Invite
      Bad Axe held its annual cross country invite Saturday, with the Yale girls taking the top spot followed closely by the Lady Hatchets. Bad Axe finished second overall with Cassandra Hanson finishing third overall with a time of 21:04, while Breann Schramski finished 13th (23:07), Crystal Schaible 20th (23:44), Heather Smith 23rd (23:49) and Hailey Richards 34th (24:28).

Hatchets lose in semis at USA Tourney
      SEBEWAING - Bad Axe got to the semis of the USA Invite last Saturday, defeating Owen Gage (21-13, 21- 15) and EPBP (21-12, 21- 18), while splitting with Hemlock (16-21, 21-12) and Valley Lutheran (16-21, 21- 19). They defeated Caro in the quarterfinals (25-19, 25- 9), but lost to Valley Lutheran in the semis (20-25, 19- 25).
