Area teams compete at Hatchet Invite
Bad Axe’s Cassie Hanson
Bad Axe held its annual cross country invite Saturday, with the Yale girls taking the top spot followed closely by the Lady Hatchets.
Bad Axe finished second overall with Cassandra Hanson finishing third overall with a time of 21:04, while Breann Schramski finished 13th (23:07), Crystal Schaible 20th (23:44), Heather Smith 23rd (23:49) and Hailey Richards 34th (24:28).
USA’s Jordan Hessler finished 17th with a time of 23:31, while Ubly’s Leandra Leppek was 47th (25:48) and EPBP’s Katie Smith 53rd (26:18).
On the boys side, the Hatchets were fifth overall and led by a third place finish from Jeremy Pawlowski (17:21), while Nicholas Pawlowski finished seventh (17:39). Martin Wolschlager was 21st (19:07.2), Nick Varner 46th (21:16) and Charles Prich 50th (21:31).
For Ubly who finished sixth overall, John Creguer finished 8th (17:41), while Brandon Glaza was 10th (18:05), Zac Taylor, 18th (19:01), Jason Rutkowski 42nd (19:55) and Nathan Sorenson 58th (21:14).
USA was 8th overall as Seth Squires finished 19th (19:03), John Bauer 27th (19:19), Marshall Rochefort 28th (19:21) and Warren Dillon 49th (20:28).
