A Star is born

Dear Editor,

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas every where you go. It's busy, busy, busy; people running to and fro; beautiful lights up all over towns; shopping, getting Christmas cards and packages out in the mail, humming as we go and the like. It's the most wonderful time of the year. It's our Lord's birthday that we're celebrating! Happy birthday, Dear Jesus, I love You.

Over 2,000 years ago, that wonderful event took place in a quaint town in Bethlehem that changed our world forever! It was on a silent night; and the shepherd boys were tending their flock of sheep, when an angel appeared right there before them - lighting up the whole sky, when an angel announced, "I bring you the most joyful news ever announced and it is for everyone." In the City of David, the Christ Child was born unto Mary and Joseph. It's a boy, they call Him Jesus. You'll find Him wrapped in a blanket in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. This Jesus changed the whole world forever. My Best Friend was born in a barn, Jesus. He went from His cradle to His heavenly throne. Isn't He wonderful? He's the Savior of this whole world. Believe in this Living Christ Who so believes in you, dear reader.

There is no Macy's, Old Navy, Saks Fifth Avenue, TJ Maxx, Polo Ralph Lauren, Bloomingdale's or Walmart in Iraq - yet there's a "target" on every corner. Our dear Military standing in the need of our daily prayers. President Obama is requesting 30,000 troops in Afghanistan. 2010 will begin our ninth year at war. All our Military on foreign soil, Merry CHRISTmas and Happy "Holy Days." We send our prayers and love to you all and to our dear Veterans, MIAs and our POWs. You're all our heros. Thank you for what you all are doing. For our freedom here at home all what you're doing for us this day. Thank you. You are appreciated. President Obama's (over 2,000 pages) healthcare plan yet still is held up on the house floor up on the "Hill" in Washington, D.C., but will it be like the immigrant package in 1979 and die under its own weight? Anymore it just seems like most politicians are the same al over - they promise us a bridge where there is no river! President Obama's dog, Bo, is really growing. The showed him over TV the other evening and his two front paws are all white like he's wearing a pair of white boots.

It was so nice driving through Bad Axe and viewing the lights and decorations and to view the nativity scene. Also, a nativity scene in Ubly is nice as well. I so enjoy seeing our red, white and blue flying so high and so proudly at McDonald's Food & Family Center in Bad Axe. I so enjoy seeing that wave when I pass by. The flag means so much to me. It stands for so much: Liberty, shed blood, our freedom, and more. It means so many things to me as I fly my own or go by that huge, beautiful flag flying at McDonald's. Also, there's a barn building on East Irwin Street in Bad Axe, just off North Port Crescent Street. Each year, including this year, there's a star up on there and they light it. It's like the Star of Bethlehem and the Star of the East! It all began in the East and conclude there as well. Peace can't be found at the Mid-East tables but rather in the Mid-East stable: Jesus. When He returns for His own - the Bible tells us - then we'll have peace, when jesus the Peace maker returns. Oh! Happy day. He's on His way back! Thank you, McDonald's for flying that huge flag daily - such a precious reminder of the price that has been paid for our red, white and "bruised" - Old Glory. Thank you, gentlemen, for setting up the nativity scenes in Bad Axe and Ubly, and I'm sure there are many other beautiful manger scenes set up all over the area. Thank you. Down in some states and towns, they're trying to keep our Ten Commandments out of schools, public places and the like, and they're trying to do away with the nativity scenes, removing our Bibles and Pledge of Allegiance out of our schools, prayer in schools, praying at ball games and the rest. What do they have so against this Our Jesus of our universe and the only One Who created life and them? He is so good "if" only they knew Him personally. (God never needed evolution.)

At this writing, a godly man and a pillar for Our Lord just passed on. He was well-known all over. He was 91 years young. He'll be missed. Always busy for Jesus - Rev. Oral Roberts.

All I want for Christmas this year is for lost souls to find this Christ of Christmas, like I once did and that they'd come to realize just how loving, kind and good our Living God really is! He loves you so much, dear reader.

Tiger Woods is in the bunker now. Instead of getting so consumed with what's behind the secret doors, let's be concerned with what's behind our doors. He believes in Allah, but he needs our prayers at such a time as this.

A Star is born - Jesus. Hark! The herald angels sing. You and I have been given the greatest Gift of all - Jesus.

Be happy and jolly, Frosty was. I am just too blessed to be stressed. Have yourselves a very, merry little Christmas Day. Oh! Come let us adore Him. no one is beyond the reach of Jesus.

Go with God - He'll certainly go with you. You have favor with Him, He tells us. You are "snow" loved. Without Christ, we'd have no Christmas.

Merry CHRISTmas and Happy "Holy Days." Dear reader, have a blessed, happy and safe 2010. You are highly favored.

I believe in this Christ of Christmas. Christmas is simply Jesus. Let there be peace on Earth, and let in start in me.

Joy to the world! Darlene Bender, Bad Axe
