JAMES V. ESSENMACHER 1929-2010
He was born on October 20, 1929 in Harbor Beach to the late Joseph and Anastacia (Lorkowski) Essenamcher. Jim married Marie Rutkowski on October 1, 1949, she preceded him in death on June 1, 1981. Jim and Kathleen Friedland were united in marriage in 1983.
James was a crane operator for Tower Automotive for over 30 years. Jim enjoyed being with friends, playing cards and polka music.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen, Harbor Beach; his children, Marcus (Holly) Essenmacher, Ruth, Dennis (Carol) Essenmacher, Minden City, Joseph (Donna) Essenmacher, Minden City, Clarence (Kathy) Essenmacher, Tacoma, Washington, Arlene (Anthony) Torres, Elkton, Donna (Raymond) Simmons, Port Austin, Alan (Lynette) Essenmacher, St. Clair Shores, and Chris (Joann) Essenmacher, Carsonville; brother, Edward Essenmacher, Harbor Beach; sister, Viola Tenbusch, Flushing; 21 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; three step-daughters, Carol (Tom) Grates, Harbor Beach, Jan (Ray) Rzendzian, Bad Axe, Patricia (Jamie) Overton, Ala.; seven step-grandchildren, and three step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Essenmacher; sons, Daniel, Larry, Leonard, James Jr, and Mark Essenmacher; great-grandchildren, Ashlynn Prill, Arthur Essenmacher, Temprence Essenmacher; sister, Magdeline “Lena” (Sylvester) Siemen; sister-in-law, Lillian Essenmacher; and brother-in-law, Kenny Tenbusch.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 22, 2010 in the Ramsey Funeral Home of Harbor Beach, with Fr. William Spencer officiating. Burial took place in St. Anthony’s Church Cemetery.
Arrangements were handled by the Ramsey Funeral Home, Harbor Beach.
