Equinox to play Pigeon Band Shell A mix of traditional Celtic music, crisp vocals, a wide variety of instruments and an immensely entertaining stage presence is what the audience can expect as the Tri- Cities’ Equinox takes the Pigeon Band Shell stage on Thursday, Aug. 5 beginning at 7 p.m. Tickets for this event, as well as all concerts are available, and can be purchased at several outlets throughout the Thumb or by calling 1- 888-282-4782. “Equinox will bring Celtic music to life on the Band Shell stage,” says Neal Eichler, Pigeon Band Shell committee chairman. “Their sound is unique and offers audiences a taste of music of the Celtic lands. Some people hear the term ‘Celtic music’ and think it’s not for them. In reality, much of the music they enjoy has Celtic roots,” Eichler noted. At the Celtic core of Equinox are traditional Highland bagpipes, fiddle, flute, whistles, and concertina. By adding guitars, mandolin, Middle Eastern and West African percussion, the band expands this ancient music to new dimensions. Having played venues from pubs and weddings to theaters and festivals, Equinox creates a musical experience that has the proverbial "glass" full to the rim with energy! |
