U.S. Naval Sea Cadet program welcomes area youth

SAGINAW - The U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps- H.R. Doud Division, Saginaw, is seeking Thumb area youth 10-17 who are interested in developing their skills in leadership, basic seamanship, courage, and self-reliance.

Cadets meet one weekend a month to train and take part in special training opportunities, when possible. H.R. Doud cadets also have had many opportunities to take part in various events such as Saginaw Spirit games, SVSU football games, Veterans events, the Bay City Pig Gig, Millington Old-Fashioned Summer Festival, and the 2010 Tall Ships Festival. H.R. Doud Division consists of students from Bad Axe, Ubly, Bay City, Saginaw, Freeland, and Midland area schools.
