Video games at library

UNIONVILLE — Columbia Township Library offers games for the Nintendo Switch, also a variety of games for PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. The library is located at 6456 Center St. (M-24), Unionville. Details: 989-674-2651.

Thrift shop sale

CASEVILLE - Helping Hands Thrift Shop, 6495 Main St. (M-25), Caseville, will be having a Bag Sale on winter clothing, March 16-18 & March 23-25. Customers can fill the store-provided brown paper bag with clothing, shoes and purses for one set price. Current hours: Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Note: Please only bring in all donations to the store during these hours only as items cannot be left outside due to city ordinances and weather conditions. (Helping Hands’ spring hours will begin Monday, April 3, starting then, the store will be open Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

East Huron Picnic, Mar. 17

ZEPHYRHILLS, FL — The annual Port Hope & Harbor Beach Eastern Huron County Picnic will start at noon on Friday, March 17 in Zephyr Park, Zephyrhills, Florida, under the south pavilion in the back of the park. MI Child ID and Vision Screening Programs, Mar. 18

BAD AXE - Masons will be at the Bad Axe Area District Library from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 18 to provide interested parents and guardians with a “completed” Child ID Package that contains all the vital information necessary to expedite law enforcement efforts to locate a missing child. The Lions will also be at the library to provide children’s vision screening to detect potential vision disorders that can cause permanent vision loss when treatment is delayed. Both programs are free and open to the public.

‘The Secret Life of Pets’

BAD AXE — The Bad Axe Area District Library will show “The Secret Life of Pets” at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 18. Popcorn will be served.

Coaches Sports Summit

NORTH BRANCH - The Coaches Sports Summit, hosted by the Marlette Regional Hospital Foundation, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, March 20 at North Branch High School, 6598 Brush St., North Branch, is designed to assist area coaches, assistant coaches, trainers and athletic directors in training and sustaining healthy athletes. The event will feature keynote speakers and interactive educational presentations will be provided by medical and training professionals. A light dinner “on the go” will be provided. H.O.P.E. Conference, Mar. 23

BAD AXE - The free, informative H.O.P.E. Conference for community members and others interested in addressing heroin, opioid, prescription education will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Thursday, March 23 at The Franklin Inn, 1070 E. Huron Ave. (M-142), Bad Axe. The focus is on supporting substance-using individuals and their families. A light lunch will be provided. PIGEON - The Pigeon District Library Board

will meet at 4:30 p.m., Thursday, March 23. The Pigeon District Library Adult Book Club will meet at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 28. The next Pigeon District Library Market Day will be Friday, April 7.

Readathon at Bad Axe library

BAD AXE - The Bad Axe Area District Library is celebrating “March is Reading Month” by hosting a Readathon Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m on Saturday, March 25. The time can be used to just read for fun, meet school reading month goals, as a fundraiser for the Youth Book Club or for any other reason. ‘The Rainforest is Coming’

LAKER - “Interact with rainforest animals, such as macaws, parrots and monkeys during ‘The Rainforest is Coming’ event at 6 p.m., Monday, March 27 at Laker Elementary School. The cost is $5 a person and children under 3 years old get in for free.”

Military addresses sought

THE THUMB - The Blue Star Mothers are asking for military addresses for their Spring Mailing. They are busy buying items to send to our servicemen and servicewomen in spring

packages to our Troops so they receive them by Easter. If you have a loved-one serving in the military, either stateside or overseas, please share their address with them and they will see that they receive a spring package. European Tower Pheasant Hunt, Apr. 1

UBLY — The Harbor Beach Hospital Foundation European Tower Pheasant Hunt, will be Saturday, April 1 at the Rooster Ranch, 7480 Germania Road, Ubly. The deadline to enter is Thursday, March 30. Food pantry wants your vote

BAD AXE — Shared Blessings Food Pantry,

a food pantry at St. Hubert Parish that serves the needy of the county, is in a contest this month to win $5,000. Investing in Communities by Independent Bank is an opportunity for people to support the food pantry with just a few clicks. Through March 29, people can visit IndependentBank.com/Investing to vote daily for Shared Blessings Food Pantry. A voter must be 18 and have a valid Facebook account. Four food pantries will win $5,000 each.

MI Child & Senior Citizen ID

PIGEON — Pigeon District Library will host the Hubbard-Winsor Lodge #420 F.&A.M. MI Child

and Senior Citizen Identification Program from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, April 1. The program is designed to have important information recorded on a disc for the families of children and senior citizens. Once the information is saved on disc, it is automatically deleted from the computer that is used for the program.

Caseville thrift shop hours
