Colorpalooza, June 10

HARBOR BEACH — Zion’s Colorpalooza will be from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 10 in Lincoln Park, Harbor Beach. The activities include fun runs for students up to 8th grade, inflatables, knockerball, face painting, carnival games and a glow dance. Concessions will be available. Lady golfers wanted for June 15 scramble

UBLY — Relay For Life says ladies golf scramble teams wanted for Thursday, June 15 scramble at Ubly Heights Golf Club. Check in begins at 8:45 a.m.; tee off at 9:30 a.m. Four ladies per

team at a cost of $55 per lady includes 18 holes of golf with cart, luncheon, door prizes, homebaked goodies during check in and on-course games. Mulligans available for purchase. “Join a fun group of ladies and help raise money to fight cancer!” All proceeds to the American Cancer Society. Bad Axe Lectureship, May 19

BAD AXE — The Third Annual Bad Axe Lectureship will begin at 6:30 p.m., Friday, May 19, and continue at 9 a.m., Saturday, May 20, with the last Saturday speaker at 1 p.m. The event will continue at 11 a.m., Sunday, May 21. The theme, from Matthew 28:18-20, is “Bring, Teach, Keep.” Speakers include: Robert Brown Junior, Farmington Hills Church of Christ; Jerry Robertson, Atlanta Church of Christ; Jarrod Williams, Metro Church of Christ; Steve Woodhouse, Parkview Church of Christ; and Jimmy Bagwell, Bad Axe Church of Christ. BAD AXE — Crafts for Paws Craft Show to benefit Thumb Animal Shelter will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, May 20 at the Bad Axe Knights of Columbus Hall, 1038 S. Van Dyke Road (M-53), Bad Axe. The event will include: vendors with a variety of items, adoptable pets on-site, dog obedience and training information, concessions available to benefit the shelter, Bad Axe Area Fire Department firetruck, silent auction and 50/50 raffle. Rudy and Tona Hornbacher Benefit Dinner, Bake Sale & Silent Auction, May 21

SEBEWAING — There will be a Spaghetti Dinner Benefit, Bake Sale and Silent Auction to benefit Rudy and Tona Hornbacher for medical expenses for Tona. The event will be from 11

a.m. to 3 p.m., Sunday, May 21 at Christ the King School gymnasium in Sebewaing. The menu includes spaghetti, salads, green beans, garlic bread, desserts and beverage. Tickets, Adult $8 and Children 5-12 $4, will be sold at the door.

Lisa Keim’s Studio Recital

PIGEON — Lisa Keim’s Studio Recital will begin at 6 p.m., Sunday, May 21 at Pigeon River Mennonite Church. The recital will feature a variety of piano and vocal music. All are invited. Refreshments to follow.

Pre-entry deadline for Kellerman run is May 24

BAD AXE — The Pat Kellerman Memorial Thumb Run will begin at 9 a.m., Saturday, May 27 at the Bad Axe Middle School and end at the Fairgrounds. The event is a fundraiser for Huron County SafePlace and Homeless

Solutions. Registration will be from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at the school. The 5K and 10K Road Races and the 5K Walk will be on asphalt and gravel country roads. Medals and trophies will be awarded and refreshments will be available at the finish. Pre-entry deadline is Wednesday, May 24. First 100 entries get T-shirt. Volunteers sought

CASEVILLE — Volunteers are needed for pasty making at The Helping Hands Thrift Shop in Caseville on May 27. Pasty making will start promptly at 7:30 a.m. Profits help those in need in the community. Pasties will be on sale on May 27 from 10 a.m. until noon at the thrift shop. To pre-order, call Carole Henry at 989- 544-1562. Pasties will cost $7 each. Pre-orders MUST be picked up by noon or the pasties will be released for sale.

Nursing education scholarship

BAD AXE — Huron Medical Center Volunteers will award three $500 Nursing Education Scholarships in 2017, available to Huron, Tuscola and Sanilac county residents who meet eligibility requirements. Duck Derby, Jun. 17

SEBEWAING — The Annual USA FFA Duck Derby will be Saturday, June 17. Rubber ducks will be dumped from a payloader into the river next to the Sebewaing River Bridge to see which duck gets to the finish line first with its owner winning a cash prize.
