Bad Axe, Ubly claim league golf titles Krohn named top golfer in GTW

Photo by Greg Hall VERONA — Bad Axe and Ubly each edged respective rivals to win league championships Monday at Verona Hills Golf Club.

For the West, the Hatchets won with a total of 364 strokes, followed by Laker with 382, Vassar with 425 and Cass City with 431.

For the Greater Thumb Conference - East, the Bearcats came out on top with a score of 407, followed by Sandusky with 413 and Brown City with 418. Harbor Beach did not present a full team.

Ethan Krohn earned medalists honors for the Hatchets, carding a 77, and was named top golfer in the GTW.

Also for Bad Axe, Colby Meeks scored 88, followed by Sam MacAlpine with 97, Tyler Bismack with 102, Brent Klager with 103 and Ryan Heleski with 113.

Drew Sholler led Laker with 89, followed by Brady Rosenthal with 92, Adam Reinhardt with 99, Brandon Hazard with 102, Nathan Pobanz with 106 and Brandon Wolschlager with 106.

Blake Badger led the Bearcats with a 94, followed by Jake Uhl with 103, Justin Briolat with 104, Levin Block with 106 and David Sorenson with 120.

For Harbor Beach, Owen Woody and Brad Voss, each shot 111.
