Courtesy photo Courtesy photo KINDE - “The Reel Happy String Band” will return to Kinde to donate their extraordinary talent to the Bible Church Homeless Coalition Pasta Dinner Fundraiser. The coalition is also called the Port Austin Homeless Coalition.

The event will take place from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 25 at the Pasta House Ballroom, 337 Main St., Kinde. As well as a pasta buffet, the dinner will also consist of salad, veggies, bread, beverage and dessert. Along with ‘reel happy’ music, there will be a bake sale and prize winning opportunities.

This very entertaining musical group consists of: Morgan and Sherry Humecki, of Novi; Terry Ross, of Port Austin; and Kim Dominick, of Southfield. Pictured here are: (l-r) Sherry Humecki, Morgan Humecki, Kim Dominick and Terry Ross.

All are masters of their instruments and have often performed at Greenfield Village, the Dulcimer Festival in Evart, the Huckleberry Railroad in Flint as well as many places throughout Southeast Michigan.

Sherry Humecki is a virtuoso of the hammered dulcimer. Morgan Humecki is a “monster” on the banjo, guitar, and mandola, as well as being a talented vocalist and audience-engaging entertainer. Terry Ross is a mandolinist extrordinaire and vocalist, and last, but not least, Kim Dominick is a bassist and the leader of the band. The Reel Happy String Band has been in existence since 1980.

Tickets are available from Port Austin Homeless Coalition members, at the door, or by calling 989-738- 8772 or 989-738-7700.
