Victims of Domestic Abuse honored with candlelit vigil

A short ceremony was held Tuesday night in front of the Huron County Building to commemorate the lives of domestic violence survivors so their strength and their courage can support those who are not only working to prevent it, but also to those who are empowering others through their courage. Those in attendance heard from MJ Mills, SafePlace operations manager, Sgt. Mike Anderson of the Bad Axe Police Department and Huron County Board of Commissioners Chairman Sami Khoury. Following the vigil, audience members delighted in donuts and cider which were free for the taking.
