Owen-Gage names December 2017 Students of the Month

Michael Ray Michael Ray OWENDALE - Owendale- Gagetown’s Students of the Month for December 2017 are: Brooklynn Mozdzen, kindergarten (elementary level), daughter of Josh Wutzke and Shonna Elliott; Cydnee Waske, eighth grade (junior high level), daughter of Aaron and Danielle Phillips: Carlee Rievert, eleventh grade (high school level), daughter of Ed and Ame Rievert; and Michael Ray, twelfth grade (senior student), son of Christina Grim.

Senior Student of the Month Michael Ray has been active in sports throughout his high school career. He played football, basketball, and golf all four years. Michael has also been a member of the student council the past three years; class representative-sophomore, treasurer-junior, and secretary-senior.

As a junior, Michael was a class representative for homecoming and served on the prom committee. He has been a member of the yearbook staff since his sophomore year and served as co-editor the past two years. Michael has attended the Huron Area Technical Center enrolled in the electrical program his junior and senior years.

Michael is the son of Christina Grim, of Bad Axe. He plans on attending Michigan State University in the fall and pursue a career as an industrial electrician.

The focus for Owen-Gage’s students of the month for December is being a “Cooperative, Collaborative Worker” - that is, a student who is a cooperative, collaborative worker communicates without bias, accepts and involves all members of a group, and is able to function as a leader and/or a follower; he/she also can move effectively from one group to another and demonstrates
