“The family loved and served their community in many ways. We want to bring the community together in prayer to encourage love and hope in one another. We must not remember the terrible tragedy, but the love they showed so many people, the friendships they gave, and the reminder to always live your life to the fullest and never take it for granted,” read a statement made by Bonini’s friends.

Donations were collected to be used for placing a bench in her memory in the North Side Park of Sebewaing, which Bonini frequented. A GoFundMe campaign, which was launched on Feb. 21 for the bench, has since earned more than its goal of $1,000.

“I just want everyone to remember her happily,” said Breanna Dinsmoore, a friend of Bonini.
