Home-buyers invited to class on finances

BAD AXE - Are you interested in purchasing a home? A cottage? An addition? A Habitat House? Or maybe you need to complete repairs on your dwelling! If so, then you need to have your financial house in order.

The Upper Thumb Habitat for Humanity (UTHFH) is sponsoring an educational opportunity for all members of the Huron County community who are interested in improving their financial picture.

UTHFH is offering a financial class for interested community members on Saturday, April 21 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Bad Axe. A light breakfast and lunch will be served. In addition, babysitting services will be available as needed.

The classes will cover budgeting and credit.

“These classes are especially important to people who are interested in a Habitat house or for people who need critical repairs in their existing home,” said UTHFH Executive Director Lisa DiCamillo. “The Upper Thumb Habitat Board plans on building at least one and possibly two houses beginning next summer. Consequently, we are looking for families who want to have home ownership in their future and who are willing to provide “sweat equity” in their home.”

Financial planning is essential to the successful completion of home improvement or home building, DiCamillo also said.

All who are interested in attending the financial class on budgeting and credit may contact Lisa DiCamillo at 989-975-8484 or 989-453-3237 or email her at upperthumbhfh@outlook.com.

“Questions are welcome!” DiCamillo added.

The deadline for class registration is by Friday, April 20.Thursday, April 12, 2018
