Bad Axe buys computer

BAD AXE - The Bad Axe City Council approved the purchase of a computer for the deputy clerk from I.T. Right for $879. In other business, the council approved a set of bills for April 19 and May 3 for a total of $142,344.

During Mayor and Council Comments, Nicholas Rochefort asked about park cleanup and City Manager Dale VanDeVusse said that the Department of Public Works is behind due to the recent bad weather.

Mayor Kathleen Particka reminded all about the Huron County Memorial Parade, set for Saturday, May 26 at 11 a.m., and said the kid’s bike decorating contest is popular and growing. Kids are asked to lineup at the Franklin Inn parking lot at 8:30 a.m.

This year’s parade will honor Gulf War Veterans as Grand Marshalls and will recognize the service of World War I Veterans as this year marks the 100th anniversary.
