Izabel Rodriguez named HATC Student of the Month for April 2018

Izabel Rodriguez Izabel Rodriguez BAD AXE - The Huron Technical Center (HATC) announces Izabel Rodriguez as its Student of the Month recipient for April.

Rodriguez is a senior at Ubly High School and is a second-year honor student in the Law Enforcement/ Public Safety Program at HATC. She is an MSHAA Scholar Athlete as well as a National Honor Society member at UHS. Rodriguez is a State Champion SkillsUSA member in Crime Scene Investigation. She is also actively involved in the Huron County Explorers Program as leader, whereas she is giving back to the community while learning how to positively advance in her career field of Criminal Justice.

Rodriguez will attend Delta College to pursue an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice then attend the Police Academy to become MCOLES Certified as a Police Officer. While employed as an Officer, Rodriguez plans to study to receive her Bachelor Degree and become a K-9 Officer.

Students are selected based on a variety of criteria including: achievement in career technical education, outstanding attendance, enrollment status, CTE related extra-curricular activities, on-the-job-training placements, work experience, and future CTE Program related education and/or employment plans. They are honored during a luncheon at the Main Street Café, located inside the Huron Area Technical Center, and will receive a certificate and award.
