Huron County Senior Wellness and Educational Fair is scheduled for June 15

BAD AXE - The 2018 Huron County Senior Wellness and Educational Fair, sponsored by the Huron County Senior Ball/Fair Committee, is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, June 15 at the Bad Axe High School, 200 Barrie Road in Bad Axe.

The free-admission event will feature workshops, refreshments, vendors, lunch available on-site for a small fee and free screening provided by Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) nurse practitioner students.

Attendees can register for a chance to win a prize including: a Freedom Alert 2-way voice emergency pendant communicator donated by Narayan Rehabilitation; a meat bundle donated by Active Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine; a $300 gift certificate to Godwin’s Furniture & Mattress donated by Godwin’s of Bad Axe; or $200 cash donated by the Huron County Senior Ball/Fair Committee. There also will be a 50/50 drawing. Attendees must be present to be win all prizes.

Workshops include: “Project Fresh” 10:30 a.m. to noon, sponsored by the Huron County Health Department - must pre-register by Thursday, June 14 at 989-269-3305; “Elder Abuse” 12:30 p.m. to 1 p.m., presented by Human Development Commission; “Tai Chi Chair Exercise” 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., presented by Athletic & Manual Therapy.

Co-Masters of Ceremonies will be Huron County Commissioners John Bodis and Steve Vaughan.
