Village of Sebewaing Master Plan public meeting, June 7

SEBEWAING - The Village of Sebewaing and the Master Plan Steering Committee will host a Master Plan public meeting, Thursday, June 7 at 7 p.m. in the Sebewaing Township Library Community Room, 41 N. Center St., to gather feedback on potential goals and objectives to be included in the Master Plan. The goals and objectives will help define the needs and ambitions for the community. Organizers say, “Your input is vital to the Master Planning process! The meeting will consist of an open house followed by a presentation and discussion about the Master Plan. Please join us and provide feedback on the proposed goals and objectives that will help shape this plan for the future of the Village of Sebewaing.” Agenda: 6:45 p.m. doors open; 7 p.m. open house with refreshments begins; 7:15 p.m. presentation and discussion begins; 8 p.m. wrap-up and next steps. Spark in the Park Wellness Event, June 8

PIGEON - Scheurer’s Spark in the Park Wellness Event will be Friday, June 8 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., with a light dinner served from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Pigeon’s Recreation Park. Activities include massages, first-aid kit making, healthy snacks, fitness activities, inflatables, paraffin wax hand dips, blood pressure screenings, balloons, walking the Path to Fitness walking path, drawings and more. 2018 Walk for Autism Awareness, June 9

PORT AUSTIN - The 2018 Walk for Autism Awareness will be Saturday, June 9 at Gallup Park, Port Austin. All are invited and welcome to gather at 9 a.m. for the 10 a.m. walk, going to the farmers market downtown for a balloon release. Donations welcome. Proceeds to local autism programs. Rev. Fuller Open House

CASEVILLE - The Caseville Community is invited to an open house on Saturday, June 9 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Caseville United Methodist Church, 6490 Main St. This open house is to celebrate Rev. Linda Fuller’s time working within our community and to wish her well as she retires and leaves our community. Organizers say, “As pastor of Caseville United Methodist Church, she has helped so many in need, officiated at weddings, funerals, baptisms and taught Bible Study and Sunday School while serving her congregation through prayer, services, support during times of stress, medical emergencies and more. Pastor Linda will be missed and we hope you will come say, ‘good bye and best wishes’.”

Elkton Prayer Fellowship

ELKTON - The Elkton Prayer Fellowship will meet Wednesday, June 13 at 9:30 a.m. at the Elkton Missionary Church, 220 N. Main St. Sharing this month will be Jan and Debbie Moore, a husband and wife team from Owosso, who have been in ministry since 1979. They have pioneered a church and a Christian school and were pastors for 33 years. Jan and Debbie now travel to many countries, bringing the people good news of God’s love and miracle power. As a part of Good News International, they equip “on-the-ground evangelistic co-workers,” anointing and appointing teams to go into everyone’s world with the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ to bring salvation, deliverance, healing, miracles and resurrected marriages. Jan and Debbie move in the gifts of the spirit. Organizers say, “You don’t want to miss what the Lord wants to say through them to you.” The Elkton Prayer Fellowship is an interdenominational fellowship that meets the second Wednesday of each month, and includes songs of praise, a time of prayer and drinks and muffins. Childcare will be provided.

Ladies Tea & Fashion Show

PORT AUSTIN - The Port Austin Historical Society and The Garfield Inn extends a cordial invitation to the Ladies Tea & Fashion Show, Wednesday, June 13. Afternoon Tea will be served at The Garfield Inn at 1 p.m. All ladies are asked to wear a hat. The fashion show will be presented by Noreen Habana from Indigo Mood. PDL Teen SRP begins June 18

PIGEON - Pigeon District Library summer reading program registration will be through Saturday, June 23. The regular summer reading program is for participants ages 4 through 6th grader. Motorcycle show, June 23

BAD AXE - A motorcycle show, Saturday, June 23, during the Huron County Relay for Life in the Bad Axe City Park on South Hanselman Street, will benefit the American Cancer Society. Bike Blessing will be at 1 p.m., with the show from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by a Bike Parade from 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. No fee; awards.
