T.R.I.A.D. notes

HURON COUNTY - According to unapproved meeting minutes, present at the Huron County T.R.I.A.D. Monday, April 2 meeting: Co-President Mary Musich, Hume Twp.; Don McKimmy, Bad Axe; Carla McKimmy, Bad Axe; Co-President Sheriff Kelly Hanson; Kelly Gainor, Harbor Beach; Eileen Bottini, Pt. Hope; Undersheriff Duane Miller; Lt. Josh Powell; and Sec.-Treas. Janice Pulaskey, HCSO. Meeting called to order at 12:37 p.m. by Sheriff Kelly Hanson, co-president. Pledge to the flag. Motion made to accept the minutes from the December meeting, as the February meeting was cancelled due to weather, by Don McKimmy, with support from Co-President Mary Musich; motion carried. Sec.-Treas. Janice Pulaskey: treasurer’s report given; motion made to accept the treasurer’s report ,made by Don McKimmy, with support from Carla McKimmy. Co-President Mary Musich would like to start advertising the T.R.I.A.D. as having a round table; hopefully this will gain more members. It was asked: “Can we do a drug take back at this year’s Senior Fair?” Co-President Sheriff Hanson: 2017 stats were given for the Huron County Sheriff’s Office: 8,500 complaints, which 140 were drug-related; 1,251 accidents, which 5 were fatal; 902 car-deer accidents; and 3,500 traffic stops. Also: 1,760 guns registered and other stats from the marine division, sheriff’s work crew and safety education. It was decided to start advertising that T.R.I.A.D. has a Round Table; and will also do a drug take back at the Senior Fair but will not accept needles, liquids or patches. Current events were discussed. Motion to adjourn by Co-President Musich, with support from Eileen Bottini; motion passed; meeting adjourned by Co-President Sheriff Kelly Hanson at 1:26 p.m. Next meeting: Monday, June 4, 2018 at 3 p.m. at the Senior Center.
