Jeffrey Allen Jurgess, age 54, of Harbor Beach, passed away in Roscommon.

Jeffrey was born July 26, 1963 in Bad Axe, son of the late Willard and Vesta (Reinke) Jurgess.

Jeffrey enjoyed farming, fishing, woodworking, tinkering, playing Legos Farm and Stickers with his grandkids, aviation/airplanes, hanging out with his dog, Hank, watching the History Channel and family trips to Disney.

Things he made known that he loved and was so very proud of, and had every reason to – His 35+ years of hard work, his black truck, his four grandkids who thought the sun rose and set in their Papa, but most of all, he was so very proud of his three sons for the loving men/fathers they grew up to be, all of their accomplishments, and new beginnings.

Jeffrey is survived by his wife of 34 years, Terry (Joy) Jurgess of Harbor Beach; three sons, Jeremy (Lauren) Jurgess of Harbor Beach, Joshua (Gabrielle Weber) Jurgess of Van Nuys, California and Jared (Kristie) Jurgess of Bad Axe; grandchildren, Ryder, Norah, Jayden and Audrey Jurgess; one sister, Judith Gomoluch of Holt, Michigan; great-niece, Jessica (Rick Doyle) Findlay of Harbor Beach; in-laws, Randy (Emily) Joy of St. Johns, Rick (Kelly) Joy of Harbor Beach and Linda (John) Cohen of Arizona; nieces and nephews, Michael (Sheila) Jurgess, Patricia Jurgess, William (Karen) Jurgess, John (Tammy) Jurgess, Jim (Michelle) Jurgess, Jason (Nikki) Jurgess, Lesa (Steve) Schrierer; and special dog, Hank.

Jeffrey was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Vesta (Reinke) Jurgess; brother, William “Bill” Jurgess; father-in-law, Reinald “Mick” Joy; mother-in-law, Norma (Blanchard) Joy; and sister-in-law, Cindy (Joy) Bender.

A Memorial Service was held at the Kaufman Funeral Home in Bad Axe.

Memorials may be offered to the Thumb Animal Shelter.
