Laming announces her candidacy

Elaine T. Laming has formally announced her candidacy to retain her position as Huron County Register of Deeds. She was appointed in February by a committee consisting Huron County Probate Court Senior Judge David L. Clabuesch; Huron County Prosecutor Timothy J. Rutkowski; and the Huron County Clerk, Lori Neal- Wonsowicz. She replaced Sheri L. Stanton, who retired earlier this year.

Laming said her 20 years of experience working as Office Manager for Case Surveying gave her extensive knowledge of property descriptions, land and title research, preparation of survey drawings and preparing detailed land descriptions for recording purposes. Laming also had more than four years of additional office experience prior to her position at Case Surveying. Laming added that she believes her experience gives her knowledge in the operation of the Register of Deeds office.

Laming has been married to her husband, Dale, for 34 years and, together, they have four children, Kevin (Talisa) Laming, Tracy (Shawn) Gaeth, Gary Laming, and Lisa (Justin) Sprague, as well as three granddaughters. She also has two step-daughters and five step-grandchildren. She was born and raised near Ubly to Allen and Alice (Booms) Depcinski. She has three sisters and two brothers: Linda (Tom) O’Henley, Ervin Depcinski, Karen (Randy) Rutkowski, Albert (Ann) Depcinski and Anita (Alvin) Iseler.

Laming also had more than 20 years of experience as a 4-H leader. She was a member of the Indian Trails Riding Club and is a present member of the Good Shepherd Parish and the Christian Mother’s organization of St. John’s Church, Ubly.

Laming said that she looks forward to providing exceptional customer service, promoting a friendlier working atmosphere, keeping records safe and stored with up-to-date technology and updating online services. Laming said that she would appreciate your support by voting for her in the upcoming Aug. 7 primary to retain her position as Huron County Register of Deeds.
