Live music to captivate Harbor Beach

HARBOR BEACH - The City of Harbor Beach is providing some new and exciting things for this summer, and that includes live concerts! Music on The Beach is provided by the city, completely free of charge to the concert-goers. Music genres will include anything from country, to new and classic rock, to jazz, to folk.

Concerts begin at The Harbor Beach Truck Show on Saturday, June 16 and continue throughout the summer. All live music, excluding the truck show entertainment, “The Michigan Army Band,” and Harbor Beach AgVenture Day entertainment, will be held at Lincoln Memorial Park Beach. The truck show and AgVenture entertainment will be staged on Huron Avenue, right in front of Al’s Restaurant, while the Michigan Army Band will be entertaining on the lawn of the Murphy Museum.

The truck show will be the first host of live music for the summer. Kicking off the summer are country bands “Taylor Tucky” and “Rye Whiskey.” The next concert, Friday, June 22, will feature “The James Michael Duo,” a father-son combination doing covers from a wide variety of fan favorite artists. “The Michigan Army Band” will be providing music from all genres on Sunday, July 8 at the Murphy Museum.

The 2018 Harbor Beach Maritime Festival set-list will include some familiar names from prior years such as “The Barbarossa Brothers,” “Brett Mitchell & the Giant Ghost,” “Dueling Pianos,” and Harbor Beach’s very own “Bobby Manila.” New acts will also appear: “Shoot the Rooster,” “Joshua Davis,” “Harper & Midwest Kind,” and “The Go Rounds.” These new acts will provide pleasure to lovers of jazz, country, rock ‘n’ roll, crabgrass, folk, and blues & roots music.

“Hillside Riots” will be the next band performing after Maritime, on Friday, July 20, and will more than satisfy the rock lovers of Harbor Beach. Country music fans will be pleased to hear that “Alan Turner & The Steel Horse Band” will be playing during AgVenture Day on Saturday, Aug. 11.

To end this summer of Music on The Beach, “Staff Infection” will be playing on Friday, Aug. 17. This band is comprised mainly of educators, and covers songs in all genres from the 1950s to today.
