Lois A. Melson, age 81, of Kinde, formerly of Roseville, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at McLaren Thumb Region Hospital in Bad Axe.

Lois was born in Detroit on July 30, 1936, to the late Stanley and Helen (Desmarais) Morris.

On February 10, 1967, she married Robert A. Melson. He preceded her in death on August 20, 2007.

Lois was a member of the Red Hat Society in Caseville and the Caseville Fraternal Order of Eagles #3690. She enjoyed scrapbooking and painting. She loved going on trips and playing with her girlfriends of the Red Hat Society.

Lois is survived by her daughters, Rose Marie Fulker and her husband, Bradley of Ira, and Denise Desmarais of Rochester Hills; her son, William Martin; seven grandchildren, Richard, Steven, Sunshine, Melissa, Richard, Stacy and Amy; and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Doris Munn of Zephyrhills, Florida and Ilene Dinunzio and her husband, Pat, of Romeo; her stepdaughters, Mary Elizabeth Devita and her husband, Robert of Shelby Township, Laurie Sanabria and her husband, Henry of Macomb and Cindy Melson of Snover; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Morris; her sister, Mary Jane Kortes; and her very special friend, Maurice J. Mousseau.

Funeral Service for Lois was held at the MacAlpine Gage Chapel in Kinde with her grandson, Richard Collins, officiating. Per her wishes, cremation took place after the service.

Memorials may be offered to the family discretionary fund.
