BAY CITY - The Laker One Act Theater team competed at district one act competition, Saturday, Jan. 27 in Bay City. The group performed the dramatic play “Abominable,” which is based on the events of the 1888 “Children’s Blizzard.” Laker earned high scores from judges and advanced to regional competition, which will be Saturday, Feb. 10 in Bay City. The following students received individual awards at the district competition: Excellent in Acting: Faith Malkowski; Superior in Acting: Halle Keim, Elam Maurer and Josh Swathwood; Superior set design: Haley McArdle, Josh Swathwood, Halle Keim, Lance Gascho; Superior lobby display and program: Lance Gascho. Lakers will host a public performance of “Abominable” at 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 11 in the high school auditorium. Admission is $3 per adult and $1 for students. 16p1.jpg
