Sebewaing Rotary selects scholarship winners

SEBEWAING – The Rotary Club of Sebewaing is pleased to announce the winners of their 2019 scholarships. Organizers said, “Our club annually presents two scholarships to USA seniors; the Paul Harris Scholarship, named for our founder, in the amount of $500 and the Rotary Foundation Scholarship, in the amount of $1,000. Criteria is based on excellence and a passion for community service as well as dedication to academics. Congratulations to Nicole Rodriguez, who was presented with the Paul Harris Scholarship! She will be attending Central Michigan University to pursue Social Work and Counseling. Congratulations to Kyle Maust, who received the Rotary Foundation Scholarship! He will be attending Grand Valley University and is looking forward to studying Physical Therapy. The youth were presented with their certificates at the USA High School Awards Night on May 15th and received their checks yesterday, May 28th, at our weekly Rotary meeting at The Lamplighter. Our Rotary International Exchange Student, Luca Pappalardo, from Italy, had the pleasure of presenting both the certificate and the checks to his fellow classmates. There are over 34,000 Rotary Clubs world wide and over 1.2 million members.
