FRANCIS (BUD) EUGENE BILLOT, 92, of Bad Axe, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at McLaren Bay Region Hospital in Bay City.
He was born on March 21, 1930 in Snover, MI, son of the late Joseph and Florence (Dorman) Billot. He attended the Minard School until 8th grade. Growing up on the family dairy farm, he learned to work hard from dawn until dusk, but also valued playing hard as well. His children have memories of him playing softball and hide and go seek with them after the milking was done and was even known to chase them around the hay and straw mow. His grandchildren also have fond memories of Grandpa attending their sporting events and appreciated how he showed genuine interest in them by always taking the time to ask them what was going on in their lives. This was how he showed his love.
While working on the family farm, he took on a second job at Yale Rubber for a few years. After working both jobs for a while, he decided to try a new venture and began working at Marlette Homes in 1970. During this time, he lived in his hometown of Snover, MI. He then moved to Indiana for several years with Marlette Homes before moving back to Bad Axe, Michigan, taking a job with Active Homes in Marlette once again. Active Homes is where he retired from at the age of 72.
