SANDUSKY – Unionville- Sebewaing Area’s Michael Lutz turned in a dominating performance, to capture the Upper Thumb High School Bowling Conference individual championship.
Lutz was the No. 8 seed in the qualifying field of 16.
In the title match, he defeated Bad Axe’s Tristian Hessling 427 (213-214) to 376 (188-188).
Lutz began bracket play with a victory over Sandusky’s Hunter Hartman 404-323.
He faced his toughest test in the next round, with a narrow victory over Caro’s Xander Gilmore 433-427.
Gilmore took a commanding 214-184 lead after Game 1, but Lutz stormed back with a 248- 213 effort in Game 2.
In the semifinal, Lutz defeated Caro’s Justin Deleon 407-363.
Harbor Beach’s Tyler Koehn earned the No. 1 seed by turning in a three-game total of 660 (185- 240-235) in the qualifying block.
